Connecticut Public Television is the PBS station for the state of Connecticut, which produced the show Barney and Friends, along with other HIT Entertainment programs, from 1992 until 2007. in 1982 as a branch of the Jim Henson Company in order to coordinate the co-production of Fraggle Rock in London, England, United Kingdom. HiT Entertainment was the owner and production company of Thomas& Friends from the eighth to the twentieth series.
The name was also now written as 'HiT Entertainment'. This logo, along with the 2000–2008 logo is currently seen on Season's 7–12 reruns of Barney & Friends on Universal Kids, despite the show now being distributed by 9 Story Media Group. As of 2016, Mattel merged HIT Entertainment with Mattel's television arm, Mattel Television.
They also helped to finish the seventh series. HiT was originally formed as Henson International Television (hit!) In 2008, HIT Entertainment solely produced the show until its original conclusion in 2010.
