That said, it's a beautiful area and well worth the visit. It is an interesting walk but steep over much of its length. This weekend we went to Morialta Conservation Park and did a few tracks around there. However, just walking from the carpark to the third of six waterfalls can leave you winded if you're not used to a hike like this. We follow the blue-green path on the following map. Continue up toward the second falls, and take in the scenery where koalas lazily hang in the canopy of gum trees. This is the 4 + 4 kilometre walk from Waterfall Gully up to the Mount Lofty Summit and back, with an extra kilometre added for the loop track back via Cleland Wildlife Park.

Just 25 minutes outside the city, Waterfall Gully has hiking trails that lead to multiple waterfalls, the first of which, First Falls, is a very short walk from the parking lot. Park your car at the small roadside carpark opposite 67 Waterfall Gully Road and walk past the Chambers Gully gate to transport yourself to this cool oasis. Walk along Winter Track and Long Ridge Track to the Wildlife Park and then on to Harford Trail and up to the Summit. I'm looking at the maps of the park on the SA Environment website, but I can't tell which track I need to take to see the waterfalls. The walk starts from the car park at the end of Waterfall Gully Road (see map below) and winds it's way past first and second falls criss crossing creeks and through fern filled shaded gullys.
