I am not exaggerating, this new 3V Recon Tanto can and does perform every bit as well as the legendary Carbon V blades. The knife is sharp and the edge is pretty durable. I'm Sure it would be a good utility Knife around camp as well. Once more Cold Steel is producing a K-Bar eating super knife that any soldier, or civilian, can own and use...knowing that, they have the equal, or better, to any knife in the world. The belt loop is adjustable and completely removable if one desires. The sheath is nicer than I expected. Many brands too. I’ll address a few others in other reviews but today I want to talk about a knife that I think is an all around great field knife at a price everyone almost can deal with. I have some that I really like and some not so much. The secure ex version of the sheath makes it a little hard to get out of the sheath but I added a leg strap via a piece of 550 cord and that did the trick.
3V seems to be the way to go w cold steel. It’s tough, sharp, reasonably priced but there is a catch to getting one of these. 3V steel is the way to go with cold steel. This is the ultimate general purpose soldier fighter...at least until they make a 3V Recon Scout. The Cold Steel Recon Tanto.
