Anyone have favorite load for the 45 Colt in a rifle. A Modern rifle should handle these loads equally as well, such as the Winchester Model 94. Saving a little on lead by not going to the 255 grain. I basically stay with the old reloading manual levels of pressure for the 45 long Colt in reloading the modern repo ‘73s. Although Mr. John Linebaugh is partial to WW-296 and H-110 for upscale loads in the .45 Colt revolvers, I think a somewhat slower burning powder that has a wider workable pressure range would be more accurate and would produce better results in rifle length barrels.
